Thomas & Chelcie’s Fun-Filled Summer Wedding at Quantock Lakes
Thomas & Chelcie’s Fun-Filled Summer
Wedding at Quantock Lakes
Thomas & Chelcie’s wedding at Quantock Lakes was everything a summer wedding should be — scorching hot, full of people they love, and built around one simple goal: a big party with zero fuss. They went for a timeless look, kept the day feeling relaxed, and just wanted it captured naturally without turning it into a photoshoot. The vibe was proper from the start, good energy, loads of laughs, and a guest list that were clearly there to celebrate hard. They also chose suppliers that matched their style perfectly, which meant everything felt effortless and really them from beginning to end. One of those weddings where you can feel the momentum building all day… and it fully delivered.
Briefly, how did you guys meet?
We met in the most romantic way, our eyes locked across a sticky light up dance floor in a club 😂 we actually went to school together and were in the same school year, but didn’t have the same friendship group so never really spoke to eachother!
When did you guys start planning your wedding?
We properly started planning back in 2023 once we found the wedding venue, after getting engaged in April 2022 ☺️
How long did it take you to find your perfect wedding venue?
It felt like it took an age, but in reality it wasn’t that long…. It was just under a year, we had to have a little break as we didn’t find looking for the venue the most fun thing about the process… we didn’t want to get married in our home town so it involved a lot of using up our weekends travelling to venues to try and find the one, which became a bit of a chore in the end! So we were extremely happy when we came across the beautiful Quantock Lakes.
How would you describe your wedding theme? What was the inspiration?
We love to have fun, we love to eat, love to drink and love to party so that was what we based the wedding around!!
Tell us about your ceremony & your wedding reception
It was a dream from start to finish, the ceremony is obviously important but not something we wanted to spend a lot of time on, Tom already had to write a speech which was pressure enough, so we wrote a few lines to make our vows our own but we wanted that part to be short and snappy so we could get the party started!! Simon & Kiana knew it was important to us not to spend too long on photos so broke it up throughout the day which was perfect for us, little pockets of alone time and a chance to have pictures at different times of the day which was an amazing idea! The whole day honestly feels like a blur, it really does fly by but the day was full of our favourite people, loads of fun, dancing and just having the best time! The day wouldn’t have been so amazing without all the staff at the venue, they made everything flow perfectly and were honestly amazing!
What was your favourite part of planning your wedding?
We gave ourselves a lot of time which I would reccomend for anyone that gets stressed easily or overwhelmed! So we were able to focus on booking one thing at a time. Doing the shopping for the suits and dress was fun as we got to have our own time with our closest friends and family, we loved choosing the songs for all the different parts of the day and obviously the hen and stag do….
Do you have any regrets or things you wish you knew before planning a wedding?
We don’t have one single regret, we woke up the morning of the wedding and this was the first thing we said. Our day was absolutely perfect for us and we wouldn’t change a thing!! As above I think giving yourself time to plan is super important so you don’t just make a decision because you’re in a rush, you have time to think about everything to make your day extra special for you! It also helps having as much time as possible to save, as we all know weddings aren’t cheap! Also having a wedding venue that know what they are doing and are on hand to help you with any questions before the day and even on the day was a massive help!
Looking back on your wedding now, what was the most memorable moments?
The most memorable moments for us were spending time with everyone we love all in one room just having the best time, how seamless and smooth the day was and celebrating us!! We had so many people tell us what an amazing day it was and we honestly couldn’t be happier when we look back and think about our special day!
What were some of the best decisions you made when planning your wedding day?
We loved having a wedding venue that we stayed at the evening before and the night of, it helped the time slow down a little bit and it was lovely to gather everyone before the big day! We also made sure everything we planned was what we wanted and didn’t worry too much about what everyone else would prefer, as it’s your day so should be all about you!!
If you had any advice for future bride & grooms, what would that be?
Everyone said this to us, but make sure you try to take it all in as much as you can, the day FLIES by and it seems like you are waiting for that day for so long! Make sure you make time for eachother throughout the day and write a list of everyone you want to have pictures with so you don’t miss anyone out! Try not to take it all too seriously, do what makes you both happy and just have the best day ever!!!! Also making sure you’ve got the best photographers helps to look back on that beautiful day with the best pictures in the world ❤️ AND a videographer is 100% worth it
