Taylor & Emma’s Spring Wedding at Trevenna Barns, Cornwall
Trevenna Barns Wedding, Cornwall
Taylor and Emma got married at Trevenna Barns down in Cornwall and it was an absolute belter of a day.
They actually found us while looking at Somerset wedding venues (still makes us smile), got in touch, and a few chats later we were packing up the cameras and heading to Cornwall. So glad they did, this one was a real fun time from start to finish.
Trevenna Barns is a stunning venue for a wedding. Tucked away in the Cornish countryside, views for miles, loads of space for everyone to stay over, and an awesome team that made everything feel easy. What more could you ask for?!

Taylor & Emma
How did you guys meet?
We initially met outside at our Gold Duke of Edinburgh award, but went our separate ways having been led into different rooms for the ceremony. We then met 4 years later on Hinge as a perfect match suggestion.
How long did it take you to find your perfect wedding venue?
One month, after far too many viewings. We went to 9 venues in three different parts of the country, the mini breaks were great but it was a bit overwhelming seeing 9. Trevenna was number 8, as soon as we left we knew we had found the venue.
How would you describe your wedding theme? What was the inspiration?
Theme was to try and stay authentic to us and include personal touches wherever we could. We wanted bright spring colours to match the beautiful colours that you can find all around Trevenna.
Tell us about your ceremony & your wedding reception
Getting married in April in Cornwall, we planned for the worst weather possible. However when the big day arrived we were blessed with 20 degrees and were able to have our ceremony outside which we never thought would be possible. The ceremony was perfect, with readings from both of our Mums, our registrar Linda made everything light and joyful, even when Emma tried to go for a kiss too soon! It felt perfectly us accompanied by Rogers beautiful piano playing. Writing our own vows whilst nerve wracking and while it may sound cliche, it really did feel like we were the only two people there in that moment. We didn't even realise people were standing until seeing back the pictures and videos. Before we were able to enjoy our glass of Pimms we got covered in a crazy amount of confetti, looking back at the pictures we have been able to identify the culprits that decided to pour it down our outfits.

When the ceremony was over we got to enjoy the glorious sunshine and stunning surroundings of Trevenna. The canapes were on point, as was a very welcome glass of pimms. Our guests completed our wedding crossword whilst we giggled our way through some amazing group pictures.
The wedding breakfast came next, after some quiet time for the two of us with Simon and Kiana, and Jacob (videographer) to capture a few more pictures and videos. That time is some of the most special that we will treasure from the day (in particular listening back to hear Simon's 'my wife' outbursts). The entrance to the wedding breakfast was epic with our host Jordan unable to even announce us as our guests went early with the napkin waving and wooing. The food was unreal as attested to by all of our guests (flash back to the tasting when we got to try 15 full portions of their food). We then had the speeches, which had us and all of guests crying and also howling with laughter. We had four speeches, first Emma's dad, then Taylor, then the Best Man (Adam) and a surprise speech/game from Emma's Dutch family. A particular highlight was Adam's impersonation of Taylor's messages after his first date with Emma (Taylor has vowed never to end a text with lol again...a vow that has already been broken many times...lol).
We then were able to cut and eat our amazing cake from Julie (a family friend and Taylor's first school teacher), before hitting the dance floor for our first dance. Over the Threshold did the most beautiful rendition of our first dance song, All Our Love by Coldplay, which Taylor's sister helped us choreograph a few moves so we did not look like complete plonkers. They then immediately started playing banger after banger, with 'I Predict a Riot' kicking it all off. The dance floor was always full and seeing our guests have the time of their lives really was incredible. Another thing that we had was a audio guest book, which was an amazing decision, the descent into chaos as the night progressed was hilarious to listen to, we had songs, raps and many more.
Before the last band set we risked our lives with a sparkler tunnel, which although scary was a lot of fun to do. Also, the night photo shoot produced some beautiful pictures.
What was your favourite part of planning your wedding?
We loved planning it all as we did it together, but mainly the little touches. We did a polaroid photo chart of places that mean a lot to us as a couple and wrote a personalised message to each guest reminiscing on our favourite memories with them, we really enjoyed doing this. We loved the excuse for mini breaks and using the excuse that we were finding our wedding venue.
Looking back on your wedding now, what was the most memorable moments?
1. Vows
2. Speeches
3. The quiet time we had taking photos and videos
4. The whole party
What were some of the best decisions you made when planning your wedding day?
The venue and the team were wonderful, we could not have asked for anything more.
Simon and Kiana are not only one of the best decisions we made, but were actually the first, even before we knew where we were getting married.
All the small touches, like the bookmarks and the polaroids with personal notes.
If you had any advice for future bride & grooms, what would that be?
Plan your wedding for you, if you are having the best time others will as well. Enjoy the day, if something is going to go wrong it will be a story and theres no point stressing about it.

“We don't even know where to start with these guys so we will keep it very simple... If you are considering Simon and Kiana for your wedding photographers do not hesitate! From our first meeting to the delivery of our final gallery they have been nothing short of incredible!
It goes without saying that their photos are complete works of art, however, there are so many other factors we could never have foreseen that have made choosing Simon and Kiana to capture our special day one of the best decisions we made.
What truly sets them apart is how they made us and our guests feel. So many of our friends and family commented on how they blended in perfectly like other guests, yet they somehow managed to be everywhere at once, capturing every smile, tear, and laugh.
For us on our special day Simon and Kiana will always be a core part of those memories, both for capturing everything so beautifully but for being the perfect duo to hang out with in those quieter moments away from the part as well.
The memories they have captured will last us a lifetime. But not only have they perfectly captured the day as we saw it from our own eyes, but they have also captured a million other moments we didn’t see on the day that allowed us to relive the day through each of our guests' eyes as well.
They really are the best!”
